There really are no words for the experience we had at Sandals Ochi, but I'll start from the top and try! We started our adventure on a Sunday morning and took a quick flight into Montego Bay. We went right through the airport to the Sandals lounge where we enjoyed a nice cold drink and snacks while we waited for the shuttle to take our group to the resort. We were warned about the long ride to the resort from the airport but fortunately they have a new highway route to the resort and our group opted not to stop at the halfway rest-stop for refreshments. Once we arrived at the resort we were taken to the Butler Village side (the beach side of the resort is across the road, shuttles run every few minutes around the resort, more to come on that). We were greeted with fresh towels and drinks and then our Butlers came to escort us to our room...needless to say we were beyond excited at this point.
When we arrived in our room we had this beautiful bed waiting for us :) I would recommend the Sandals Butler experience to anyone considering this resort, they went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable at all times and had everything that we needed and more. When we arrived they had already booked our dinner reservations for the week along with an anniversary dinner on the beach. We particularly enjoyed the sushi restaurant that was adjacent to Kimono's, the French restaurant had phenomenal french onion soup, we enjoyed breakfast at the Southern Table every morning, late night pizza by the pool, and the Italian restaurant was amazing.
While we were there, Lee enjoyed several dives with the resort team and even studied for and completed his Advanced Open Water Certification. I quickly came to enjoy the pool on our Butler side and truth be told, I never once took a dip in the Ocean. I woke up every morning at 7am to reserve our spot at the pool, then some mornings I would grab breakfast and take it back to Lee before he went out diving. While he would dive during the day, I would enjoy a few Jamaican Smiles in the pool :).
Some tips from our trip to keep in mind for your next all inclusive vacation...try to fly direct if you can, there are plenty of awesome Sandals resorts one plane ride away. Book the Butler Suite, you must experience this level of luxury. Don't overbook yourself, so many of the reviews I read beforehand had people complaining about excursions not living up to their expectations - there is more than enough to do on the resort, you never have to leave! Try the diving, even if you are not an experienced Diver you can talk to the resorts excellent dive staff and see if it might be worth a try. Last but certainly not least, GO TO THE RABBIT HOLE AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN - you have to see the singer they call "Momma" (pictured below). Her voice is amazing and she gives every performance 200%, you will not be disappointed!!
