Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort

We loved everything about the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort! We've gotten lots of questions about how we picked this particular hotel, so for starters it certainly wasn't the cheapest option we had but it was by far the most fun for the kids. We knew early on that we wanted to travel to FLL at least one day before our cruise b/c we didn't want to be impacted by the potential winter weather. We knew that Southwest would fly into FLL and our cruise left from the Port of Miami so we looked for hotels on the beach in between the two. Margaritaville popped up on our radar b/c of the water slide for the kids and two pools, it was also located right on the beach for those that wanted beach time. We booked the hotel through a discount site and the only downfall to that was that we had to pay in full at the time of booking. Fortunately we were able to select adjoining rooms so our group was able to enjoy being nextdoor to each other.

We arrived at 11pm and my kids were tired and our family was hungry...fortunately the restaurant on site was serving their full menu until 1am so while the others went down for food I got the kids showered and in bed. The bathroom was HUGE, I wish I had a picture, it was perfect for our family of 4 b/c there were two sinks and a separate shower room and bathroom with door. Towels were scarce and I had to call housekeeping to receive more towels which took over an hour to arrive, but the kids had what they needed so that was ok. The beds were super soft, I mean you roll into the middle and join the other person sharing the bed, it was not good!

Saturday the 5th everyone enjoyed a day at the pools, beach, wave-runner ride, and even the spa. The bar service around the pool was excellent, you never had to look for someone to help you they were running back and forth non-stop and the kids even enjoyed lunch poolside. We went to the restaurant both Saturday morning and Saturday night and unfortunately the service was terrible both times. It took more than 2 hours for a meal each time and it wasn't crowded which left us scratching our heads.

Overall when we left Sunday morning for the port the kids said they wished we were staying longer, and asked if we can go back! I would highly recommend this resort for a family vacation, just pack your patience at meal time :)

Scroll through the pictures below for some perspective - the map image shows you how perfectly situated the hotel with water on both sides, second picture is the beautiful blue flip flop that greets you in the hotel lobby, third picture is the view of the waterfall from the pool, and finally the sunset from our balcony over the bay.
